About Hudson River Psychiatric Center (HRPC)

Hudson River Psychiatric Center is dedicated to Healing, Respect, Progress and Caring. It serves the seriously and
persistently mentally ill through inpatient care for 150 patients, including psychotherapy, psychoeducation groups,
medication and a range of rehabilitation activities. Its community services for several hundred clients comprise
clinics and day treatment programs, vocational rehabilitation, mobile crisis teams, case management, intensive
psychiatric rehabilitation treatment and supervised community residences.

The Center sponsors an active Continuing Medical Education program with weekly grand rounds, is affiliated with
New York Medical College, and supervises psychiatrist, psychologist and other residents and interns.

HRPC's inpatient campus is located high on a hill in Dutchess County, with views of the Hudson River and the
Shawangunk Mountains, popular sites for sailing, skiing and mountain climbing. It is 1½ hours from New York City
by the Hudson Line train or by New York Thruway or the forest-bordered Taconic Parkway.
Area Served

HRPC serves three counties on both sides of the Hudson River, just north of Westchester: Putnam, Ulster and
Dutchess. These include the towns of Poughkeepsie, Beacon, and Kingston, surrounded by suburbs plus extensive
rural land with horse farms and vineyards.
