| The Mary Cummings property is all open space containing woods, meadow and marsh: 188 acres, 40 acres of which are in Woburn and the remainder in Burlington, which are bounded by Cambridge St., Bedford Rd, Blanchard Rd. and Muller Rd. ; another 12 acres are on the other side of Bedford Rd. in Burlington and 4.3 acres at Bedford & Willow Rds. Originally it also contained 14.29 acres which was seized by eminent domain by the federal government for a NIKE missile (not shoe) site. It was evidently one among many in Massachusetts, its the rectangle building sitting out in a field. its the ops-HQ building. The small homes farther right is base housing to the lower right is a Northeastern University campus, the parking lot is built over the missile silos. |
